~translated by Guillermo I. Castillo-Feliú
Xicoténcatl was first publisheded in 1826 as a propaganda piece against Spanish influence in the Americas. Therefore, this book wasn't written to be a stunning piece of fiction, but rather to influence the opinions of those involved in Latin America's struggle for independence. Nevertheless, it was an enjoyable read, even if a little dry.
