The Islar: A Narrative of Lang III

~by Mark Saxton

This is the first sequel to the book Islandia by Austin Tappan Wright. (Mark Saxton was the one who compiled and edited and published Islandia from Wright's notes.)

The story follows Lang III, the grandson of John Lang from the original novel. Islandia is under great pressure from outside governments to modernize. The country also faces internal turmoil as a civil war threatens.

Although it can't compare with the original novel (in length or in depth), The Islar was still enjoyable to read.

The next two books, also written by Mark Saxton, are The Two Kingdoms: A Novel of Islandia and Havoc in Islandia.
